Submit a withdrawal request through the app. Funds will typically be transferred to your registered bank account within 2 business days.
Important Notes for Deposits
- 1 Instant transfers are available 24h, 365 days a year. However, some financial institutions and maintenance periods may result in next business day processing.
- 2 The transfer name must match the name registered when opening your account.
- 3 Your dedicated deposit account number is unique to you. Please check it in the app.
- 4 Transfer fees are borne by the customer.
Important: Name Mismatch Deposits
The transfer name must exactly match the name registered when opening your account. Deposits will not be accepted in the following cases:
- • Transfers from family members' accounts (e.g., parents, spouse)
- • Transfers from corporate accounts
- • Transfers with additional characters in the name (e.g., 'JOHN DOE CO) ABC', 'JOHN DOE 123')
If a name mismatch deposit is made, a refund process will be required, which may take additional time.
Can I transfer funds from another securities account?
Unfortunately, AlpacaJapan Co., Ltd. does not currently accept transfers of U.S. stocks held at other securities companies.
Is it possible to open a bank account even if I live overseas?
Woodstock brokerage accounts are only available to residents of Japan.
I am a foreign national; is it possible to open a bank account?
Yes, it is possible. Foreign nationals residing in Japan should bring their My Number Card and either their Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate (with an expiration date of at least one month) to proceed with opening an account. However, due to U.S. tax law, individuals who are liable for taxes in the United States (U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or U.S. residents) cannot open an account.
At what age can I open a bank account?
Accounts can be opened by individuals aged 18 and over.
