Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the company provides critical communications, video security, and command center technologies, used by public safety agencies and enterprises. It was formed in 2011 by the division of Motorola, Inc., and is its legal successor; the former company's mobile phone division was spun off as Motorola Mobility, now part of Chinese technology company Lenovo. Motorola Solutions' offerings are grouped into three primary categories: critical communications land mobile radio devices and networks, command center technologies to connect voice, video and data feeds; and video security including devices, AI-powered analytics and management tools. The company also provides managed services and support through a global network of operations centers.
