About the company

Halliburton Company

Halliburton Company is an American multinational corporation and the world's second-largest oil service company, responsible for most of the world's fracking operations. The company, incorporated in the United States, has dual headquarters located in Houston and in Dubai. Halliburton's major business segment is the Energy Services Group. The company has been criticized for its involvement in numerous controversies, including its involvement with Dick Cheney – as U.S. Secretary of Defense, then CEO of the company, then vice president of the United States – and the Iraq War, and the Deepwater Horizon, for which it agreed to settle outstanding legal claims against it by paying litigants $1.1 billion. In 2015, Halliburton was found guilty in court for illegal retaliation against a whistleblower who filed a report with the SEC over concerns that the company was illegally concealing billions of dollars. The company has also been criticized for refusing to comply with United States Environmental Protection Agency requests for transparency around chemicals it uses in hydraulic fracturing.

Market action

A concise summary of the latest filing, transaction, or market-moving item.

Halliburton Company reported that it issued its second-quarter 2026 earnings press release on July 21, 2026, covering financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company also provided access information for an investor conference call to discuss the results, noting that the call had been previously announced on June 10, 2026. The filing does not include the actual financial figures from the earnings release in the text provided, but it identifies the release as Exhibit 99.1. Halliburton said the release would also be available on its corporate website and that it contains certain non-GAAP financial measures. The company stated that reconciliations of those non-GAAP measures to the most directly comparable GAAP measures are included in the press release and in the quarterly results and presentations section of its website. The Form 8-K was filed under Item 2.02, “Results of Operations and Financial Condition,” and Item 7.01, “Regulation FD Disclosure,” reflecting that the announcement was both an earnings disclosure and a broad public communication to investors. Item 9.01 lists the earnings press release dated July 21, 2026, as Exhibit 99.1. No insider trading, equity grant, share sale, option exercise, merger, financing transaction, or change in control is reported in this filing. The key corporate action is Halliburton’s public release of quarterly operating and financial results and related investor call information. The company also emphasized that the earnings-related information is “furnished” rather than “filed,” meaning it is not automatically subject to certain liability provisions or incorporated into securities filings unless Halliburton specifically does so later.
